Savio2 Air Compressor
This is the motor of a Savio2 aeration system. It lives on land. Air goes through weighted tubing to rubber-disc diffusers on the pond bottom. The rising bubbles mix the water column so the pond is less likely to stratify in summer and can keep a hole in ice in winter.
It does not replace a filter or a UV. It does not treat algae by itself. It supports the bacteria and fish by adding oxygen and circulation.
Which size
| Compressor | Common use |
|---|---|
| 1/2 HP (SO2400) | Smaller lakes / about 1 acre with one diffuser set |
| 1 HP (SO2750) | Larger or deeper water, two or more diffuser sets |
Savio kits pair ½ HP with SAS1-style 1-acre packages and 1 HP with SAS2 / SAS3-style packages. If the pond is odd-shaped or deeper than about 10–15 ft, size up or add a second compressor.
Install notes
- Place on shore, dry, and out of flood range.
- Can sit up to about 300 ft from the pond with extra tubing. Do not bury the compressor.
- Needs a weather cabinet or enclosure for rain, sun, and noise. Optional Savio cabinets: SOR035 (base) or SOR037 (wall/post) for these two models.
- Use a dedicated circuit. Disconnect power before service.
- Identify intake vs discharge before you plumb it.
- Not for acids, solvents, or explosive gases.
You will also need
- Weighted airline
- One or more Savio EPDM disc diffusers (single DSW1 or dual DSW2)
- Check valves
- A cabinet if the unit will sit outside

Use with our other water treatments for best results:
Aeration helps the ClearLake bacteria products and Pure Bale work. It does not replace them. On a 20k–30k gallon koi pond you may want a smaller linear-piston or diaphragm aerator instead of a ½ HP lake compressor
FAQ
Is this a complete aeration kit?
No. Compressor only.
Can I put it in the water?
No. Shore only.
Will it clear green water?
No. Use UV plus normal pond care. Aeration helps the pond hold oxygen while you treat.
How loud is it?
Rocking-piston units hum. A cabinet and isolation base cut noise. Do not promise “silent.”
