ClearLake Pond & Lake Clarifier
These are 8 oz water-soluble bags of concentrated beneficial bacteria from ClearLake (ProLake / Keeton). Toss them out in a grid. The bags dissolve and the bacteria work on suspended organic material in the water, which is what usually makes a pond look stained, dull, or “dirty” even when the filter is running.
That is a different job from ClearLake Muck Eliminator Tablets. Tablets sink and work in bottom sludge. These bags work in the water you see.
Use above 50°F (10°C). For colder water, use ClearLake Cold Water Clarifier instead.
This product is not a dye, not a flocculant (that is a product like Accu-Clear), not an algaecide, and not a UV sterilizer. Results vary with temperature, aeration, fish load, and how evenly you spread the bags.
Sizes and coverage (when dosed as directed):
Label rates are by surface acre.
- Initial application: 6 lb per surface acre
- Maintenance: 2 to 3 lb per surface acre every 2 weeks
- 1 bag = 8 oz

Rough guide to which bucket to buy:
- 4 lb — small pond or a trial
- 8 lb — ½-acre start, or several maintenance rounds
- 24 lb — best cost per pound for about 1 acre through a warm season
How to use:
- Use when water is above 50°F.
- Figure surface acres: length (ft) × width (ft) ÷ 43,560. Do not guess.
- First treatment: 6 lb per surface acre.
- Throw bags in a grid. Do not stack them in one corner.
- Repeat 2 to 3 lb per acre every 2 weeks.Keep aeration running. Bacteria work faster with oxygen.

*You can use clarifier bags and muck tablets in the same pond. They are meant to be paired. Do not dump a full initial dose of everything on the same afternoon if fish already look stressed.
Fish, plants, and swimming:
Intended for ponds and lakes with fish, plants, and recreation when used as directed. Follow the label. Add air if fish show stress.
What this is not:
- Not a copper or peroxide algae treatment
- Not a polymer flocculant that “clumps” particles overnight
- Not a substitute for a filter or UV on green water
- Not the cold-water version of this product

FAQ
Bags or tablets — which do I want?
Cloudy water you can see through the top: bags. Soft black muck on the bottom: tablets. Many ponds need both.
Will this kill string algae?
No. It works on organic haze in the water. Use UV plus an algae product for blanketweed.
Can I use it below 50°F?
This formula is for warm water. Ask for ClearLake Cold Water Clarifier if you list it later.
